On The Job with Jewell Attachments

Jewell Attachments was recently tasked to provide a custom long reach boom arrangement for a dredging project at a remote location in Alaska.  After a detailed engineering review of job parameters, a Komatsu PC 2000 configured with a custom 85’ long reach boom to carry a 6yd digging bucket was commissioned.  The machine has performed as specified and was able to complete the project ahead of schedule.  This arrangement is one of the largest aftermarket booms ever manufactured and is a great example of the complex projects Jewell excels at completing.

Digging In Canada

Jewell Attachments was recently chosen to provide two specially designed long fronts for infrastructure projects in Montreal, Quebec. Pictured is a 65’ long front mounted on a Cat 345DL matched perfectly with a C&P ditching bucket. Jewell is well known in the construction and environmental industries for providing custom engineered long fronts that stand up to the harshest work environments. Lead times are always critical on long fronts, and Jewell has invested heavily in facility and personnel to bring these products from concept to iron within a time frame the meets project requirements.

Modified Hitachi EX 1900

Still one of the largest material handlers ever supplied in North America, this modified Hitachi EX 1900 with a custom Jewell boom, arm and 13 yard clam is capable of 50,000 lbs of lift at full reach. The machine was instrumental in the ongoing remediation of the upper Hudson river, unloading millions of yards of contaminated dredging spoils. Just massive!!
